On June 3, 2024, the opening ceremony of the foreign aid workshop of Turkmenistan on the knowledge of World Trade Organization was successfully held at the University of International Business and Economics. The program is initated by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China and organized by University of International Business and Economics. President of UIBE Prof. Zhao Zhongxiu attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. Twenty-five government officials from the Ministry of Finance and Economy, Central Bank, Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Environmental Protection, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Construction and Architecture, Customs and Service and other ministries of Turkmenistan attended the opening ceremony. The workshop invited several experts and scholars to provide a comprehensive learning experience for the participants through a variety of teaching methods, such as course lectures, seminars and study tours. The aim of the program was to strengthen cooperation and exchanges between China and Turkmenistan in the field of economy and trade, and to contribute wisdom and strength to promoting Turkmenistan’s accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO). On June 4, Prof. Tu Xinquan gave a lecture to the seminar on the topic of “Basic rules and framework of the World Trade Organization”, which was highly appreciated by the participants.
