The seminar titled "Analyzing the So-called 'Non-Market Economy' Issues in the WTO from a Negotiation Perspective" was successfully held
On the afternoon of March 7, 2025, the seminar titled "Analyzing the So-called 'Non-Market Economy' Issues in the WTO from a Negotiation Perspective" was successfully held both online and offline by WTO Chair at UIBE and co-organized by the Network for International Trade and Investment Studies (NITIS).
The seminar focused on the issue of "non-market economy" within the WTO framework and was chaired by WTO Chairholder at UIBE Prof. Tu Xinquan. The opening remarks were delivered by Mr. Yi Xiaozhun, former Deputy Director-General of the WTO. Wang Lei, Senior Partner at Gaopeng Law Firm, served as the keynote speaker, providing a detailed interpretation of the article titled "Analyzing the So-called 'Non-Market Economy' Issues in the WTO from a Negotiation Perspective," co-authored by Yi Xiaozhun, Wang Lei, Hong Xiaodong, and Suo Bicheng, and recently published in "International Economic Review". Prof. Zhao Hong from the Peking University Law School and Hong Xiaodong, former Director-General of the WTO Department at the Ministry of Commerce and Vice President of the China Society for World Trade Organization Studies, acted as commentators, offering in-depth analyses of the research. The seminar also saw active participation from Lin Guijun, former Vice President of UIBE; Professor Chen Weidong from the Law School of UIBE and other young professors and scholars from the network attended online and offline.
