Prof. TU was invited to participate the CSIS ChinaPower Conference and Track II dialogue in the U.S.

On Feb. 8-15, WTO Chairholder at UIBE Prof. TU Xinquan was invited by Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) to join the ninth annual in-person CSIS ChinaPower Conference and Track II dialogue "China US Relations in a Turbulent World" at the CSIS offices in Washington, DC.


More than 40 scholars from both China and the United States participated in the dialogue, including Professor Da Wei from Tsinghua University, Professor Yuan Tiejun from Peking University, Researcher Scott Kennedy from CSIS, Thomas Christensen from Columbia University, and Rick Waters, Managing Director of Eurasia Group. The Track II dialogue is divided into three parts, and Professor Tu Xinquan participated in the discussion of economy and trade in the second part, and put forward his own views on the advantages and disadvantages between China and the United States and the trade relationship between China and the United States. The next day, teams from both China and the United States held a debate on China's power, with four representatives from each country engaging in lively debates on different topics. During his time in Washington, Professor Tu Xinquan was also invited to participate in the recording of the CSIS China Field Notes audio program and was interviewed by Scott Kennedy on issues related to Sino US economic and trade relations and China's trade policy.


From the 12th to the 14th, Prof. Tu Xinquan participated a small symposium organized by the Council on Foreign Relations in New York. He held talks with researcher Liu Zongyuan and also visited the National Committee on US China Business, Columbia University, Rongding Group, and the Chinese Consulate General in New York for extensive exchanges on US China relations.
