From July 13 to July 20, 2019, Gao Yuan, Secretary of the Party Commitee of CIWTO, went to Germany and the United Kingdom to attend the first Sino-European Think Tank Symposium.

Participants at the China-Europe Think Tank Symposium included officials from the Chinese Consulate General in Manchester, Peking University, Nanjing University, Wuhan University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Freiburg University, the China-Europe Think Tank Exchange Association, German ABI Research, Jena University in Germany, CLES in the UK, and other scholars and managers from Sino-European Think Tanks, as well as more than 20 experts engaged in research in related directions in think-tank institutions in universities.

Gao Yuan gave a keynote speech on the "Revolving Door Mechanism of University Think Tanks", and exchanged views with participants on the key content of the Report on the Evaluation of China's Implementation of WTO Commitments, one of the latest research reports of CIWTO.
