Prof. Tu Xinquan attended the event hosted by the Chinese Consulate General in Munich

On July 15th, 2024, the Chinese Consulate General in Munich, in partnership with the Bavarian Export Club Association, held a seminar in Munich, Germany, with the theme of "China's Role in the Global Economy: Challenges and Opportunities." The event delved into topics such as China's economic development prospects, the status of its new energy industry, and Sino-European green cooperation, fostering insightful discussions among Chinese and German experts on opportunities for economic cooperation. WTO Chairholder at UIBE Prof. Tu Xinquan delivered a keynote speech as a representative of Chinese experts.

Lin Kai, the Acting Consul General of the Chinese Consulate General in Munich, stated that economic and trade cooperation has consistently served as the "ballast stone" and "stabilizing anchor" in Sino-German relations. Facing current global risks and challenges, it is imperative to break down barriers, cooperate hand in hand, seek common ground while reserving differences, and jointly pursue development. China will firmly advance high-standard opening-up and welcomes enterprises from throughout Germany, including Bavaria, to invest and start businesses in China, thereby making positive contributions to Sino-German and Sino-Bavarian economic and trade exchanges.

A member of the board of directors of the Munich Foreign Policy Institute, stated that the trade relationship between Germany and China is of utmost importance to both countries. He attributed the success of the German economy in recent years and the tremendous development of China since its reform and opening-up to trade and exports. Consequently, maintaining the openness and cooperation of international trade is crucial for both nations.

Prof. Tu Xinquan expressed that China is committed to continuously advancing its opening-up through measures such as reducing tariffs, promoting trade facilitation, easing market access for foreign investment, and optimizing visa policies.

To further enhance the promotion of the "Invest in China" policy and assist local regions in attracting investment, the Chinese Consulate General in Munich has partnered with influential German chambers of commerce and associations within its consular district to organize a series of events titled "German Enterprises Step into the Consulate, Gaining Close Insights into China's Economy." This seminar served as one of the series' installments, attracting representatives from approximately 70 member enterprises and institutions of the Bavarian Export Club Association.
