The 13th Annual Conference on WTO and China held in Beijing on December 18th, 2014

Since 2002, Annual Conference on WTO and China has been successfully held for twelve sessions, which has started discussions on the changes of WTO multilateral trading system and the development of economy and trade in China after accession to WTO. It has a positive and extensive influence on the academics and society, which has already been one of the most influential specific forum on WTO.

In 2014, WTO made a breakthrough in negotiations about the implementation of trade facilitation agreement, but for post-Bali agenda there is still a long way to go, several regional and multilateral agreements continuing developing rapidly. As the largest trading country of the world, China’s choice will have a critical influence on the development of multilateral trading system. Meanwhile, after the 3rd Session of the 18th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, China’s economy has been in new normal, which is still a key issue for the Chinese policy maker and researchers to decide what kind of trading strategy should be taken to meet the new situation. Therefore, China Society for WTO Studies (CWTO), International Centre for Trade and Sustainable Development (ICTSD) and China Institute for WTO Studies of UIBE are going to jointly hold the 13th Annual Conference on WTO and China in Beijing on December 18th. In this conference, there will be dialog and discussion among officials, scholars and experts from home and abroad governments, international organizations and enterprises. Warmly welcome to attend this annual conference and take part in the discussion.
