The international seminar, “The Sino-Brazil cooperation: Future Development” ,was held in the school of Foreign Studies in UIBE in the afternoon of October 9th,co-hosted by the Research Center for the Portuguese - speaking countries of Regional National Institute of UIBE , University of Campinas in Brazil ,and the BRICS Research Center of Fudan University. 

The seminar included two special topics. During the first one, participants were discussing the issue on“The impact of Brazil economy and society development on BRICS countries and world economy ”. The main theme of the second topic In, the main theme of the second topic is 、“The status and effect of the cooperation between China and Brazil among BRICS The status and effect to BRICS between China and Brazil cooperation”. Tu Xinquan, the executive president of China institute for WTO studies, delivered a speech and answered some related questions.

 The seminar’s content was diverse, and the experts and scholars analyzed deeply and critically.

They explored the future development of BRIC countries with the perspective of China and Brazil relations, not only analyzing the current politic and economic crisis of Brazil systematically, but also giving a positive outlook to Sino-Brazil relations under BRICS cooperation system especially the development of bilateral economic and trade relations combined with hotspot issues like TPP. They put forward a series of constructive recommendations such as China and Brazil should work together to promote trade facilitation, reaching multilateral investment agreements among BRICS and so on.

  Before the start of the seminar, vice president ZhaoZhongxiu met with vice-president of University of Campinas and Marcelo de Neenah— the ambassador from the Embassy of Brazil in China respectively. Mr.Zhao expressed welcome and gratitude to their visit, hoping UIBE and these institutions could strength communications and cooperation and improve academic levels in the field of China and Brazil’s business and politics, promote mutual understanding and friendly relations between two countries.
