On March 29th, the Ministry of Commerce held the special briefing on the Article 15 of The Protocol on China's Accession to the WTO. Wang Shouwen, the Vice Minister presided over the meeting, and officials from the Department of WTO, Department of Treaties and Law as well as the Bureau of Trade Remedies respectively delivered reports on the relationship between Article 15 and China’s market economy status, the legal analysis of Article 15 and the implications of Surrogate Country System on trade. Then Wang Shouwen announced the Chinese government's principle and position in this regard. Mr. Sun Zhenyu, President of the WTO Research Association of China, and other more than 20 experts and lawyers in the field of WTO attended the meeting, and put forward their own viewpoints and suggestions on this issue. Professor Tu Xinquan was invited to attend the meeting.
