CIWTO assistant professor Lu Yue, in collaboration with Wang Xiaosong, associate professor of Renmin University of China and Zhao Chunming, professor of Beijing Normal University, published a paper titled "Trade Barriers and Embedment in the Global Value Chain: Taking Antidumping Actions against China as an Example" in the 2017 first issue of the top Chinese journal Social Sciences in China. It is the first paper in China that investigates the participation of Chinese enterprises in the global value chain from the perspective of anti-dumping. They carried out complete decomposition of China’s total trade flows, distinguishing among total merchandise exports, final product exports and intermediate product exports and quantitatively identifying the effect of trading partners’ antidumping action on China’s participation in the global value chain. It is of great significance in guiding Chinese industries’ participation in the global value chain and moving up the value chain.
