On March 28, the British Embassy in Beijing hosted “Asian Tigers North East Asia Regional Conference” in Beijing, with the theme “Cooperation and Competition: China and the region in changing times”. Mark Gooding, British Minister Counsellor in Beijing, chaired the meeting. More than 20 officials of British Foreign Ministry from Northeast Asia and from London attended the meeting. Many scholars from China, Korea and Japan were invited to express their views on relevant issues. Professor Tu Xinquan was invited to take part in the meeting and expressed his own views on the development of international trade, China’s regional cooperation strategy and so on.
