Since 2015, CIWTO has been inviting famous foreign scholars to teach at the UIBE Summer School for 5 consecutive years. Last year, the Summer School was suspended due to the Covid-19 pandemic. And this year, for the first time, the courses were provided in the form of online lectures. After sufficient communication and technical preparation, Dr. Maarten Smeets, Director of Technical Cooperation Division of WTO Secretariat, successfully taught the course "WTO Multilateral Trading System: Challenges and Opportunities" for 60 undergraduates from July 19th to July 30th. During the course, Tu Xinquan, Dean of CIWTO went to the offline classroom to check the situation of the course and had a cordial conversation with the students and the lecturer.
