Ph.D. candidate Wang Yu Co-Authors WTO Working Paper during his WTO Internship
Wang Yu, PhD candidate from CIWTO, UIBE, is currently interning at the Economic Research and Statistics Division of the WTO. Recently, he collaborated with Marc Auboin, WTO Counsellor, Beliyou Haile, WTO Senior Economist, and Jiancong Liu, PhD candidate at Bocconi University (first author), to complete a working paper titled "Trade Finance and Exports: Firm-level Evidence from China."
Building upon previous research, this paper investigates the impact of trade finance on firm export performance, with a specific focus on the Chinese market. The paper highlights the positive role of trade finance in enhancing export performance, suggesting that optimizing and promoting trade finance tools is a viable strategy for improving firms' international competitiveness. This research provides valuable insights for the international trade strategies of emerging market economies and is significant for achieving the stable and efficient functioning of global trade.
