On 18th June, CIWTO held an online presentation of the research proposal on the WTO Reform and the Development of Multilateralism Based on the Perspective of Collaborating to Build the Belt and Road Initiative. This research is the Construction of Belt and Road Initiative Research Project 2020 of the Department of Regional Opening-up at the National Development and Reform Commission, for which CIWTO won the bid in May this year.

The experts who attended the presentation are Liu Xiangyu, Deputy Director of the Silk-Road Economic Belt Coordination and Promotion Office of the Department of Regional Opening-up of the National Development and Reform Commission; Zhang Peng from the General Office of the Department of Regional Opening-up, National Development and Reform Commission; Huo Jianguo, Vice-chairman of China Society for World Trade Organization Studies; Yuan Youwei, deputy director of the Department of External Affairs, China Center for International Economic Exchanges (CCIEE); Dong Yan, senior research fellow of the Institute of World Economy and Politics (IWEP), Chinese Academy of Social Sciences; Zhang Jianping, deputy director of Academic Committee, Research Institute of the Ministry of Commerce; Tu Xinquan, Dean of the China Institute for WTO Studies, as well as Professor Yang Rongzhen, Professor Li Yang, Associate Professor Lu Yue, Assistant Professor Li siqi, Assistant Professor Dai Zhen of CIWTO and several phD candidates who participated in this project. The conference was chaired by Tu Xinquan, Dean of the China Institute for WTO Studies.
